[雅思] IELTS考試場所對分數有沒有影響呢？

雅思考試分為聽、說、讀、寫，共四個大項，其中閱讀和聽力測驗有客觀的評分機制，考試地點對考生的分數影響不大，然而口說和寫作方面卻可能存在差異。 Robert老師在下面的文章中會舉例、詳細說明從過去眾多的學生考試經驗裡，在台灣不同的考場應考，的確出現分數上的差異。我們希望這篇文章對正在準備雅思考試的讀者有所幫助！

Dear perspective Ielts exam takers in Taipei, 

In regard to choosing the location at which to take the Ielts exam, I have some important advice.

I've had about twelve clients in the past two years who have encountered seriously unprofessional treatment and biased examinations at IDP in Taipei. They were assessed quite low in comparison with their actual ability. How an institution can continue to employ an examiner with such a mass of evidence indicating clearly incompetence or unprofessional behaviour is really quite beyond comprehension. Therefore I highly recommend that test takers book their exam at the British Council as it has an impeccable reputation to my knowledge.

As evidence for my advice I submit to you dear reader the case of one of my students who was asked only this question in part two of the speaking exam: "Why do you think housing prices are so high in Taipei city?" This is an Ielts exam not a chit chat about what happens to interest the examiner. My former client is an artist who had gained conditional entry to the University of the Arts London, who hadn't the slightest idea of the factors behind real estate prices in Taipei -- so this was reflected in her Ielts speaking score.

Another client received only a five on his initial exam for speaking (yet other scores were 6.5 or in the 7 and 8 bandwidths), after several months of remedial study with myself and my British colleague, he again faced the same examiner and received only 5.5, yet with no further study or review went immediately after receiving his results (two weeks later) and was examined regarding his abilities and was assessed 2 bandwidths higher at the British Council. This indicates logically that one examiner was quite mistaken in his assessment of my former client. I truly believe it was the former examiner at IDP.

These are just two cases from among my own personal clients in the past two years and I take only several clients every few weeks at the very most. This means that around 20% of my clients have been done a disservice at IDP. Just please avoid the place.

If IDP is bothered by our post they should take action to correct their error. 

Alternatively I would welcome their lawsuit that they can file against me in the State of Alaska and then I can produce documentary evidence and sworn affidavits from my past clients to prove the veracity of my statements in a real court of law.
